The Brief
Originally we were given a brief to pick either a, television series, film, comic book, documentary or drama of one of our favourite scenes to create a puppet/puppets.
Once we had decided of where our puppets would originate from we then would have to film our puppets from the scene we have picked.
As part of this project we could either work in a group or do it as a singular project. I decided I would do the project alone, which is where I went on to do CALL THE MIDWIFE.

Call The Midwife.
When I got the Brief I knew right away that I wanted to make two puppets.
Although there are many different characters in the television series, I wanted my characters to have quiet a contrast within their personalities, with the one being very outgoing, fun and very head strong and the other being motherly, strong and very independent.
Through reading the character synopsis' of all the characters, I then narrowed my choices down to two characters in particularly, TRIXIE the nurse and SISTER JULIENNE the nun.
These would be high enough to come up to my own waist and would be able to hang from wire and move like old puppets.
I wanted my puppets to be old fashioned and up to waist height, due to the television series being set in the 1950's and I wanted the themes to all stay in keep with each other.

My idea for the filming my puppets.
After I had made my puppets and actually could she how they looked and how they could move.
I wanted to focus on how the puppets move instead of how they talk (as my puppets don't have faces ) I still wanted the puppets to have something to move to which is when I started to look back into the series of 'Call the midwife' which I when I found the intro music which starts of each episode.
Underneath is a clip of the intro music which I am going to used over the top of the puppets moving.

This clip is what the 'Call the midwife' is all about this clip is from season 1.
CALL THE MIDWIFE allows people to see the history of what actually happen when the east end women had babies.
But after looking at this clip I knew that I wanted my puppets to just be able to move instead talk.

This clip is from season 2 which help people watching the series understand that not everything was had and that people actually did have fun and were aloud to live their lives.
Which has given me an understanding of what live was like.

Here is a clip for series 3. Which show my two favourite characters at their best SISTER JUILENNE and NURSE TRIXIE and also shows the bound all the nuns and midwife have.
After this clip it had helped me understand how the make the puppets move.

After looking at all the clips and listening to all the music that was playing though out the series. I have started to understand what the I want my film to look like.
I have choose to film the puppets going into a house I am going to have the puppets walking up the path and walking to a door to show the Nun and Nurse going into house to help deliver a baby.
For the location I have asked my neighbours house if I could use her if I could use her door and hall wall as the house looks like the era from the call the midwife and the hall wall is designed in an old fashion way. I will be filming the puppets in the afternoon when the sun is not so high is the sky.
I will then edit all the sections together and edit in the intro music.
